The Chuckanut Health Foundation, United Way of Whatcom County, Lhaq’temish Foundation and the Whatcom Community Foundation are mobilizing philanthropic resources in response to COVID-19.
“We know the need in our community is great,” said Kristi Birkeland, President/CEO of United Way of Whatcom County. “We also know there are so many organizations out there working tirelessly to address these needs. The Whatcom Center for Philanthropy is dedicated to raising and allocating funds from around our community to ensure these hard-working organizations have the resources they need to support families, change lives, and create a better and more equitable Whatcom County.”
Funds will help ensure that people, especially those experiencing racism, homelessness, financial distress, isolation, mental health challenges and other barriers to health and wellness, can get nutritious food, childcare, mental health support, safe housing and many other essentials.
